The Eight Devils |
IT is about expanding our human capabilities - with memory, processes, control and analysis - in an automated fashion. When we do that, problems often tag along. Some problems are annoying recidivists, and those I have named "devils". And the most common of those I have called "The Eight Devils" - they are the ones I am particularly familiar with, and can help you eradicate.

Devil #1: A Yoke of Old BurdensProblem: You should be spending time on new developments, but are stuck in expensive maintenance and acute fixes of obsolete systems. Help: I lift your yoke of planning, developing and executing automatic or semi-automatic migration Result: You enter a more modern world, where your efforts can be spent on new developments, not maintenance.
Devil #2: Overgrown JunglepathsProblem: Your are stuck with strange systems, interconnected haphazardly, and you have forgotten how and why. Help: I find the way by examining and characterizing systems that are suffering or are abandoned Result: You gain an overview and a solid basis for future decisions.
Devil #3: Friend or Foe?Problem: You feel let down by vendors, who should help with your problems, but lets you down when the going gets rough. Help: I knock some sense into the vendors by taking active charge in connection with support-cases or evaluation of bid responses. Result: You have better time for your daily tasks by letting me handle the extraordinary ones.

Devil #6: A Gigantic MazeProblem: You want to bid on a complex project, or you want to get bids for a project of your own, but lack deep technical knowledge and sharpness in the process. Help: I solve the puzzle, and help with construction or answer to bids Result: You get the full picture, and control of the technical questions and answers, and guarantee of correctness.
Devil #7: Secret RitesProblem: You have a fantastic solution, but noone has the inclination, time or skills to describe it. Help: I wield the pen and create necessary documentation of all kinds (manuals, users guides, presentations, translations)Result: Your systems and methods are documented, so your employees and customers can better utilize your products.
